Air vent

How hard would it be to use the air vent over the grill in my '51?
would you need a special heater? I have the defroster/heater.

Air vent

Maybe I'm missing something
Do you want to use the vent to ventilate your cab?
You have one on your cowl.

Air vent

I would like to have a air vent that these trucks had for their heater. You couldn't use the cowl vent if it is raining.

Air vent

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Aug-02 AT 03:12 PM (EST)]You must be talking about the Magic Air system where fresh air comes in right above the right headlight. Right?

If so there is a knockout plate above the right headlight. There is a hose (similar to defroster hose) that connects to that knockout plate, running back towards the firewall into the heater. I am sure there are lots of little parts connected with this.....can't say I've ever seen one intact though. Seen pieces of them....

The tube for the fresh air that runs from the front right fender to the heater is made of steel. There are not many left because, like the joining lips of the front fenders, they make a perfect dirt trap and rot out.
