Low power when engine is cold

I'm having similar problems as some other people on this sight.I have a 97 F250 HD 4x4 auto my symptoms are low power when engine is cold( I always warm it up 10-15mins).It almost feels like the truck is in 2nd gear or a brake is stuck. When it take off,I have to floorboard it to get it to move with any authority. It starts out slow then feels like it down shifts and of we go.After about 15 minutes of driving,I seems fine.I do not notice any different sounds in the exhaust.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Rick.

Could be a stuck or malfunctioning EBPV.
Best solution remove it.

I pulled out the exhaust back pressure sensor and tube,It really wasn't that dirty.I cleanded it anyway.Still have the same problem.I guess my next move is to pull the valve and clean it.Is there a way to check proper valve operation? Thanks for any suggestions.Rick

just unplug the connector that controls the EBPV. its located under the turbo inlet. its a two wire connector with wires on each end. Unplug it and the valve will not function any more. then if it fixes it you can gut if you want but there really is no need in my mind to gut it

I didnt notice a real change in exhuast sound when myt EBPV would stick with the stock exhuast, as soon as I straight piped it I could tell right away what it was. Unplug it and report back.
