'05 V10 3.73's. Towing on a recent 4200 mile trip that included Rockies and Big Horns pulling a 7500# travel trailer, I averaged 7.8MPGs

Around town not pulling I get 9-10 I almost NEVER drive highway not towing.

Mixed highway and city I get 11

Here are the codes that will be on the decal on the driver's door post.....

31 = 3.73 non-limited slip
C1 = 3.73 limited slip
32 = 4.10 non-limited slip
C2 = 4.10 limited slip
33 = 4.30 non-limited slip
C3 = 4.30 limited slip

OK. Mine says 31. So what does 3.73 non-limited slip mean? Sorry for the ignorance.

Or more precisely...Your driveshaft spins 3.73 times for each revolution of the tire. Higher numbers means your engine spins faster so more torque is put to the ground sooner in a road speed/RPM range.

3.73s will cause the einge to spin slower than the optional 4.30s.

Open Differential (non-limited slip) means you have no locking device or anti-slip device or traction aid device (whatever you want to refer to it as) to aid in either transferring power to the wheel that ain't slipping or "locking" the two wheels together in those low traction situations.

With an Open Diff, power is sent to both wheels and both wheels apply power to the gound (contrary to popular myth) until one loses traction. Then all the power gets sent to that wheel making you STUCK.
