manifolds?
how often do they go bad in f150's?. I finally took my truck to the dealership yesterday, that i just bought 3 weeks ago. and it needs to manifolds and a new rear-end. They said its pretty common for the manifolds to go bad, but how many people on here have had a problem?

No personal experience here but I have read numerous threads on broken exhaust manifold studs which produces an exhaust tick noise. If the manifold studs have been broken for a long time without attention, the exhaust leak can etch the head/manifold which may be what the dealership is referring to. Make sure that they use the new style stainless steel manifold stud that won't break like the old ones. Good luck.
