6 CD Changer

I have an 03 EB Expedition with the 6 CD Changer. Recently the player just makes a clicking noise and then will display "CD Error" when trying to play or eject CD's. Any ideas on what is going on or how I might fix it??

here's a fix: pull out the changer, connect an aux connection in its place, and run an ipod/misc mp3 player instead. cds are so 90s.

Are there CD's in the unit?. Does it try to eject?
