With the cruise set on 55mph or so, when engaging a hill, it backs off. It acts like it doesn't want to kick out of overdrive, and I think that's the reason that it won't maintain speed.
I have to give it a little bit of pedal manually to get it to kick out and get back up to speed. BTW, the truck has a 3.55 gear.
Any suggestions on what I need to start checking? I just want to get 'er back right.
Your truck is 14 years old, I am sure you have some leaking vacume hoses, the cruise servo is getting weak, or the trans servos are failing. I'd start with the vacume hoses and then look at the cruise cable.
