Question Bumpy brakes

I've noticed that when I hit the brakes recently that my truck feels like its going over little bumps. It's more noticeable at higher speeds-35mph and up. Brake pedal is not soft and the brakes still slow the truck down, but its just the bumping feeling. Wondering if anyone has any places to start looking on this. Warped rotors maybe? Truck is a 2000 F350.

Thanks

Check caliper slide pins first, then rotors second.

I believe i remember reading something in guzzle's page about the slide pins needing to be replaced with better ones? Anyone know about that? I also have a vibratiion like warped rotors and was just planning on replacing them with powerslot cryoed and hawk pads but if i should replace the pins to while everthing is apart just to be sure to have smooth brakes? Thanks

If you're going to spend the money on the rotors and pads, it would definitely make sense to do the new design pins.

Check your pads and see how they are wearing. I had a vibration problem from the front on my brakes and my right side outer pad was wearing at an angle. It is also a common problem for the caliper pistons to stick. I replaced the pins and pads on both sides and the right caliper.

Smooth as silk now.

The slide pin with the rubber sleeve on the tip goes in the top bore of the caliper and the one without the tip (green color) goes in the bottom bore.

well i went and bought a 50 to 250 foot pound torque rench, and it busted on me last night. i was going to use it to make sure i got my lugs and those calliper bolts up to 166 foot pounds, well how can i get it right with out the torque rench? i had to use a half inch socket driver and a pipe to extend the handle to get enough leverage on the bolts to loosen them, so should i try and guestimate how tight to make them when i put the callipers back on and the wheels?
