3g writeup
Anybody have a 3g alternator upgrade writeup? I'm in bad need of more charging amps, running fog lights, 2400 watts of amps, computer, 8 inch monitor, and the stock alternator just cant keep up. I was looking into the 3g, but I need to know exactly what I need because this is my Daily driver, so it cant be down for long. Thansk guys.

Don't know who has a writup there is one on fsb.com but basically you need one from a late 90s mustang or truck, I think.
But the wiring from your external reg. needas to be extended to splice into the 3gs plug.
You should be able to locate the field, sences and excite wires from the reg.
Then the 12v should just be upgraded to a 4ga. wire or you could even go 2ga. if you want.

Here you go http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=75 hope that helps a little. I would reccomend just building a new harness rather than splicing and extending the old one though. Its only a few wires and you never know what shape their in half way down the harness.
