Moving to Texas

Well its almost official, in 2 years we (my wife, son & I) will be moving down to San Marcos Texas...It is exciting and scarey. I lived in Tx for a few months when I got out of the Marines, haven't been back since (1992). We plan on comming down this summer for vacation

Any of yall live in or near San Marcos that would be willing to give some local info?

Thanx
Taz

Welcome in advance to The Great State Of Texas.

Do a web search on the San Marcus area and you will find it is a beautiful part of Texas. Close enough to Austin and San Antonio to enjoy them yet far enough away to not get caught up in big city stuff.

Even though I live in the DFW area...I really enjoy that part of the state.

Lots to do. Enjoy your vacation.

There is a huge Czech/ German population in the area. That means good food and festivals.

Welcome Truckertaz,

San Marcos is a nice area. The Hill country is beautiful. Don't have any specifics, but my brother just moved to Austin. If you have any specific questions I can pass them along to him.

Welcome to the Texas and the Texas Chapter.

You are moving to a really cool area. Lots to see and do. Get ready for summer though. When people say it gets hot here they mean it. That's what they make A/C for though so it's all good.

Let us know when you're coming down, This summer or in two years. I'm near Dallas if you need a final rest stop before San Marcos. We can show you some good Texas food and beer.
