Question Master cylinder

Going to put a duel master in my 55 F100,with all drums, think I have to use a Mustang cylinder, how do you plum the two front lines to this, is there a two to one block for this, the master has only two ports, the 55 had three? Which part on the master do you use for the front brakes, the larger one? Thanks

Be sure the original application for the MC was drum/drum which would mean that it would have to be something in the late 60s or early 70s. It's been awhile but if I remember correctly those master cylinders had equal sized reservoirs and if not, you might not have the correct MC. Disc brakes require a larger fluid volume and the larger reservoir would apply to that application. Some of the older dual chamber Ford master cylinders did not use a combination valve so you can use a fitting block similar to what is used in the rear and split one line to each side in the front.

You can use a disc/drum or disc/disc master cylinder for drum/drum brakes but don't try to use a drum/drum master cylinder for disc brakes. It won't have the fluid capacity required. Since you have 4 wheel drums, it won't matter which port you choose.

I agree you can use a disc/drum MC for drums but the plumbing is different. If no combination valve is used a disc/drum MC will require an inline 10 lb residual valve between the MC and front drums. A drum/drum MC does not need the inline valve for the front since the residual valve is internal.
