Does anyone have Q-logic Q-form kick panels in thier superduty? Pictures only show the pass side and I am curious how they fit around the e-brake pedal.
I want to see how low they seat the speaker and if it will interfere with the emergancy brake pedal befor I order a set. The before/after picture on thier website just doesn't look right for some reason.
Not entirely sure how accurate I am with this, as I was looking at them a few years ago and it's possible they have changed the design. But if I remember correctly the drivers side interferes with the e brake. Pretty sure that's the reason I didn't buy them as I have the stick shift and use my e-brake all the time.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with more definite info
if you look close at the pic on their site, that is not a super duty or excursion door panel either. almost looks like a chebby truck. definately not a ford..
either way, why would you want it if it "rubs"? i have done these in other cars and i have taken the assembly out, heated the arm and moved it to where it would clear everything, and then reinstalled it. works like a charm.
Why not get 5 1/4" comps and put them in the doors...
Make a mounting bracket the same size as the factory speaker and mount the comps on to that. There's a thread around here somewhere that shows an install... I did mine the same way.
you dont want to shim it because then you will run into problems because of the tension when you push it with your foot. and allignment problems with the cable. you dont have to bend it much. heat it, bend it slowly, then let it cool for a while..
If you want to know if it really fits, try calling Crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com). They tend to be more expensive than most car/home audio/video places, but they do extensive research prior to advertisement. They will also be able to tell you what, if any, additional components you will need to get your hands on for an easier install.
Also, if you are looking for custom fit applications for speakers, check out www.supercrewsound.com. They have a large selection of custom items for individual vehicles.
my buddy owns a car audio shop and ordered them for my 03 sd and they looked like **** and didn't fit or wouldn't hold my 6.5 alpine type x seperates so he ended up custom fitting them in the door
