Just throwing it out there anyone with a '99-'07 extended cab looking to add a subwoofer, consider this q-logic enclosure. Will fit either a 10" or 12" woofer, and I must say the fit and finish is great. Looks factory. Sounds good. And the cup holders are handy for the little ones in the back.
To be completely honest, not sure what your talking about. Could you post a picture of the seat you're describing? Then maybe u can give you a better answer.
Ah sorry, I understand you now. The pictures supplied by q - logic show installation with a solid rear seat. It also says it will fit the 99 trucks so I think you should be ok.
Yes it fits the '99 back seat, my buddy has one in his e99 and I'll be getting one for mine as well. Really nice unit, good quality and sound. A bit spendy though.
My amp is under the center seat and I have no fan, and never had an overheat issue.
An amp will over heat if the sub is too large (not in size but watt draw). The proper amp for proper sub. I use to run 8 Memphis 1000D amp to 2 12inch Memphis LVS subs with no over heating issues.
