60 F100, engine swap

Looking at putting a 351c 2v into a 60 F100, what would be the level of difficulty for this swap?

I would say moderate depending on your fabrication skills.

You can get a front crossember (actually a bent tube) that either bolts or welds to your frame that has the 351C motor mounts on it. you can either buy or make the tranny crossmember depending on transmission choice. (or if you are good at fabricating, you can even make your own)

things you will have to modify/fab for this besides mounts

- transmission linkage
- fuel lines
- rad hoses and maybe new rad
- throttle linkage
- if using auto, tranny cooler lines and tranny cooler.
- remove rear crossmember for tranny clearence (at least I did for ease of installation)
- depending if motor has points or electronic dist, rewiring of starting/ignition circuit to accomadate new motor
- re-wiring of gauges to mate to new motor (or use aftermarket gauges)
- re-wiring for alternator
- new driveshaft or modify existing driveshaft

there are probably a lot more little things also, but those are the major things to consider.

So although not hard, not a weekend project either, lots of little things to modify, fab to make it work properly.

I haven't done that particular one but I'd say no easier and no harder than most any other swap. Mike pretty much covered the hard stuff. Good luck with it...
