Block question
did the 7.3's block ever change design? My dad has a '96 and chipped it, now its needing better gearing and was thinking about the newer 6spd in the next generation PSDs.

no the block never changed the 6sp will bolt up but you will need a superduty t-case. i believe the crossmember will need to be relocated and the drive shafts will need to be remade since they will be different length. and the t-cases fromt he superduties are elctronic actuated not lever so you will need to wire that up. also from what i have read the 6 sp has less desirable gear spacing. and if thats not true all the 6 sp is is the 5 speed with a creeper gear. it not impossible some have done it. what about different gears in the differentials?

its alot of time and money, you either need to make some floor pan mods or put a body lift on the truck. you can get the full manual tcase also. for all the money that is spent you can get a us gear unit and have a 10speed
