Oil Pan Removal

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the oil pan and replace the gasket and reinstall the pan without lifting the 352FE engine on my 66 f-100 2wd?
Thanks for any info!

Easily... no. With the oil pickup screen/tube extending down into the pan and the crossmember just 2" below it would be impossible. Been there, done that. That means either the engine goes up or you disconnect the oil pickup tube through a narrow opening. By the time I realized that my pan was already sitting on the cross member. So I cleaned off all gasket material, very carefully, and slipped in a new one and so far so good.

I went ahead and pulled the pickup and pan to clean the mess that was in it.. worth the extra 1/2 hour. You can loosen the stand/mount bolts and just lift it enough to have the bolts at the edge for another 1" or so...Putting the pan back in is the hard part. I put the gasket on the pan and let it set up. Then put only one bolt on the pickup so it will swing, then slide the pan in put the other bolt in and tighten them up/wrench(a bitch) then add the sealer to the engine base parameter using a finger to smear and heave ho...(waiting to add the sealer will make it much cleaner farting with the oil pickup...)
