Steering Column Shift Indicator Lights?
I have a '78 F150 SC 4x4, 351M, C6. I am wondering if the steering column on my truck ever had a light that would illuminate the shift indicator for the transmission. It's not really a big deal not being able to see it in the dark, but I thought if it did have a burned out bulb, I would go ahead and replace it.
Also, has anyone ever tried to replace the instrument cluster voltage regulator? I have noticed recently that my guages will suddenly fail to the high side for several minutes, and then return to normal. I heard that this was caused by a faulty instrument voltage regulator. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

It's like repeating everything the person on the phone said before replying.
Yes, take the shroud off the column
you will see a blue/red stripe wire running up by itself ........reach up the underside of the column with a pair of long needle-nose pliers and pull the bulb holder out and down to replace the bulb.
Gauges Topic:
It isn't always the ICVR that causes the Pinning of the gauges.
The problem could be the grounding of seperate circuits on the cluster.
Remove the cluster and clean the entire printed circuit with electrical cleaner.
