Can someone decipher my VIN please?
New kid on the block. I typed "VIN decoder" in the search tab but only unanswered threads showed up.
I just bought a 2000 Ranger XLT and have the VIN but the truck is still at the dealer getting the "check engine" light diagnosed and fixing the power steering which is stiff and heavy.
Anyhow the VIN is 1FTZR15V1YTA16032. Could someone decode it for me OR direct me to a site where I could ferret it out.
I have the CarFax VIN check sheet.

1st digit = country of origin 1 = USA 2= Canada
2nd digit = manufacturer F = Ford
3rd digit = type of vehicle T = truck
4th digit = gross weight
5th digit = model R = Ranger
6th & 7th digits identify chassis and body type
8th digit identifies the engine
9th digit is a check didgit
10th digit identifies the model year
11th digit is the assembly plant
Digits 12 thru 17 make up the sequential serial and warranty number. Digit 12 uses the letter A until the production or sequence of 99,000 units (digits 13 thru 17) then A becomes B for the next production sequence of vehicles. Your vehicle was the 16,032 built in the first production run that year.
2nd digit = manufacturer F = Ford

4th digit = gross weight
