Up to 500 k.... depends on other engine condition..., if compression is ok and oil pressure is good, drain the oil, remove oil pan and inspec bearings... replace if they are ''red''.... inspect the crankshaft.... looks well - drive for peasure.
JT_Hill has a good site, how to rebuild aeros engine... Of course, it seems to me it is not time for rebuild, but you can see how to replace gaskets ore bearings there, so check it out....
And the lust dont put the engine apart, till you are not sure that Electronic systems are ok, and injectors are ok too.... Do the cheap stuff first.

Let me share my formula for buying used cars........I have applied this formula several times and its a good one, For every 100 bucks you spend on aused car you need to get 1000 miles of trouble free miles(not counting regular service such as oil. brakes .wiperblades etc) . For exzample If you only pay 500 bucks for a car you need to go 5000 miles without any big repair bills..........This formula works real well when applied to aerostars. I bought a tarus for 3900. It had 100k on it I needed to get 39 k more miles with no big bills,,,,,,,I did have to spend around 400 on repairs so that means I need 43k......I got it and still enjoy the car.
