Fabbing steering column mounts for the cherokee column, making a spring compressor for the jag front end so I can play with ride heights, some frame cleaning and maybe going mountain biking.
Making a trans cross member and sealing up the left front cab corner area for winter.
Maybe some floor cleanup or frame not sure depends on the weather and how my day goes. I have kids and IM always pulled off my job. My wife takes Saturday classes for her work so it screws everything up until shes back.
Umm....I am doing the same as every weekend. Saturday sitting in the dialysis unit. Probably being sick at the end of the treatment and leaving in a wheel chair (very typical). Then sleeping the rest of the day.
Sunday...well that depends on how badly Saturday goes. Hopefully, I will be able to do some more of my school work. I have a new laptop, new software (AutoCAD 2007, Architectural Desktop 2007, and Inventor 11), and new books to go through.
Oh wait...this is supposed to be about trucks.
I have a house full of eagles. Some pictures, some toys, a lot of ceramic ones. Anything that has eagles on it, I have (probably). Everyone gives me eagles.
Mom just bought me floor mats for my 56 that have eagles on them. I will try to see if they fit at least. There...thats truck related.
Hi Brian, glad to see you still up and about. Doesn't look like I'll even get to look at my truck this weekend, or the next 2 for that matter. Got to work tomorrow and then pull an engine that I sold(but hey, that's more $$$ for the 53)
Right now I'm being equally pulled between 2 passions, my truck and hunting season.

With all those CAD tools you'll be able to do alot of modeling and design stuff for the Truck.
I've been trying to convert some line drawings of a chassis into CAD, not much luck so far. It's the Old Dog, New Tricks thing.

OK...what do you need? Just 2D dimensioned drawings or 3D solid models? Send me the info, and I will give it a shot (as long as it is not a rush job).
For those of you who don't already know, I teach those programs (part time) at a local college.
Drive. Drive a lot. Unfortunatley, it will probably be for work. I'm on call this weekend and we cover an area from Macon to Tennessee and Alabama to South Carolina....basically all of the nothern half of Georgia.

I didn't know you taught this stuff.
I'll have to finish cleaning up the drawing and get it down to a managable size.
I got a zerox of a blueprint from a 1948 chassis repair manual, it was mailed to me. I then scanned it in to the puter at the highest res. that I could. I then reversed the image to black lines on a white background. Ended up with a good 19+meg file.
As you can imagine there are alot of spots and stuff, drawn in the 40's by hand, when I get it presentable I'll send it your way.
I'll need your email. rctree @ netzero.com (remove the spaces.).
It'll be about 80 degrees and sunny tomorrow........I don't know what I'll do....maybe go out in the garage, get a few cold ones, and a nice Cohiba, kick back and relax!!!!!
Bought a modern fleetside box this past week to adapt in a stepside manner as a few of us had breifly discussed in here a few weeks ago. Will clean up the garage, space the cab up to where it belongs and take a few final measurements before we start a cuttin'......
Am going with a mid 90's Sierra/Silverado shortbox (6.5 ft long) . Did a lot of hunting and measuring and feel this box will be the easiest to adapt and yet give me the look I want.
Preliminary measurements suggest we'll have to narrow it by about 15 inches in order to end up with the 54 F100 fenders being 7 inches wide on both sides and hitting stock (54 F100) overall width.....
Will have the box test fitted by end of November. Will finish all the mods and body work on the box by Jan/Feb...... Will build a sub-gallery like I did for the chop.
Looking forward to getting started on this phase...
I hope to ''finish'' my new grille, got a fairly nice (good chrome) one but the mounts were rusted so I took 3/4 inch off the back of the mounts to set the grille back inside the opening a little. Stock grille, custom touch. What's not to like?
Wow! you guys sur ehave some ambitious plans. I hope it all comes to pass.
I just came in from the garage where I had been cutting steel, sipping frosty beverages, and mocking up pieces trying to get and idea of "what the heck" I'm doing.
For those that don't know...I'm too cheap to buy the rolled rear bed piece that goes between the stake pockets on my 49 so I came up with a wacky idea of fabbing my own out of round and square tubing. Well, it turned out the 2" square tubing just wasn't quite tall enough after I cut one leg off and nestled it over the 2" round tubing. I brought home a chunk of 2x3 rectangular tubing. I got it cut to length and determing that I need to cut 1/2" of the long side of it to make it perfect. I'll have to do some massaging on either end to make it slip inside the stake pockets but I'm feeling pretty good about it.
Going to make a few phone calls and try and get my doors shipped from Middle-of-Nowhere, AZ to Tucson. Then try and Greyhound them (one at a time) to Taxachusetts. Wish me luck. I've been on these doors since May. Just found out the Tech school doesn't want my truck back until spring. Maybe I'll have the doors by then.
Saturday plans are to clean out the garage so I can get my truck out of the weather and back in the garage. It has been sitting outside since we moved 4 months ago. Sunday will probably be spent watching Nascar and football.
I did all my truck related stuff during the week. Just brought the beast 4 new tires yesterday. Since I turned him over to the mechanics to finish the parts I can't reach or don't have tools for, I get weekends off.
Possible exception to the weekends-off rule: There's a junkyard that said they might have a front hub and if I'm feeling hopeful, I may swing buy there and paw through the offerings.
