ok, this may be a simple operation, but it sure is confusing me. I'm trying to remove the window cranks on my 1952 and not having any luck. I found a pin that I believe was meant to hold them on and was able to very easily drive that out, but still the handle won't budge. Am I missing something, or can these things be stubborn? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I really don't wanna break anything since they are in pretty nice shape. Thanks
The handles are only held in by the pin. They are probably just stuck on the shaft. Try working them back and forth and try to get some penetrating oil in there too.
hmm, so far the score is window cranks 2, me 0... for the life of me I can't get them loose. I have knocked out the pin, and used some penetrating oil, a few blows from a rubber mallet, looked for a c clip.. and still no movement... help please, I really don't wanna break these things.
I used a crow bar to get some off of my parts truck, and even then I had trouble getting them off. I sugest ALOT of penetrating oil, shaking, some good hard yanks, and maybe some prying action. What was keeping mine on was a bunch of dirt and rust that built up inside of it.
