I would like to hear some ideas or sugestions on a windshield washer. Where could I get an origional type(52)? I don't mind making one fit from another year. And is there a good vehicle to salvage one off of? Did they ever make a hand pump?
It was many years ago and I don't remember what vehicle it was in, but there it had an aftermarket (I assume it was aftermarket, but it may have been stock equipment) windshield washer that was operated by a foot pump. When you stepped on the bulb mounted on the floor near the dimmer switch it squirted washer fluid on the windshield.
The kits for windshield washers for the 48-52 trucks pop up on Ebay now and then, but they run $100.00 plus. It's a foot operated pump setup. You can also check some of the NOS parts houses to see if they have a kit. If you have the kit part number, you can check on www.partsvoice.com and it will give you a listing of who has it.

When I was a kid my dad had a '64 International TravelAll that had a foot operated washer system. You might want to take a look at that, it might be easier to find than the original Ford but being that it was an International I doubt it.

My LMC Truck catalog issueFB.14 list a washer pump w/ resevoir for the 67-72 pickup. Picture shows a plastic resevoir with pump and mounting tabs. Looks like all you have to do is install some hose, switch and nozzels. (www.lmctruck.com). I also checked the online store, they show no listing for a resevoir w/pump.
