Have an "05" 6.0, w/ 27,000 mi. I just had the Exhaust Pressure Senser replaced on recall. When I got it home and shut it off, I hear this loud buzzing from under the hood. The buzzing lasts about one minute and then has a sound like a circuit clicking off and it stops. The sound seems to be coming from the back part of the engine in the area of the turbo. It has never done this before the recall service. No engine light. Anybody else experience this. Any ideas what it is and should I take it back again. The dealer already replaced it twice today because the first one was faulty and the engine light was on.
I should have browsed down a few posts! I see others have the same buzzing and describe it to a tee. So I guess this is part of the new flash. I have had the new flash supposedly for a month and never heard this sound before. Oh well. The flash works fine and I get 21 mpg. hwy. at 65 mph unloaded. The reason it was flashed in the first place was that it was surging in "TOW Haul" while pulling at 2200 rpm.
My 05' f-650 went in @ 2000 miles for punch list stuff amongst the most importatnt was leaking exhaust manifold. I now have the truck only to find Ford claims this to be o.k. but that my pcm was replaced and the cruise control does not work. Now I also have this buzz, what the heck is it.
drove the truck 42 miles today. It never ran as well, but for only 25. It sputtered and spit a few times on the way home with service engine soon light on. Second time it has done this. First time they blamed it on dirty turbo, I do not think this is the case this time. I am getting out from under this truck. Anybody need an f-650 dumper
