Flathead question

Well guys this is not me working on flatheads. I got a ford and a mercury truck, but their powered by 460s. I just pick purchased another one,but its in to good of a shape to change from it original condition with a flathead v-8. So heres the questions.I got it without the pulg wires on. If im thinking correct number one cylinder is on the passanger side front, and It goes down that side like 1234 then from front to back on the drivers side, 5678. But im not sure. Really is that correct ?? Also whats the fireing order and the wiring order on the dist. clockwise or counterclock wise. It would be helpful. Thanks !!

Flathead question

facing the engine from the radiator side, the closest cylinde on the left bank is #1 and goes back to #4, then on the right bank the closest is #5 and goes back to #8. The firing order is 15486372 and is cw on for '49-'53 and ccw on the earlier dist mounted in front of the engine(aka crab dist).
