Rear Main Seal
I just noticed today that my rear main seal appears to be bad.
There is fluid coming down over the break housing. Not alot, but enough to notice.
What will the parts typically run for a repair like this?

A rear main seal is around $15 or $20. I used one from felpro when I did my rebuild. My 300 had the one piece seal as I believe all 300's use this type. In order to change it the transmission needs to be removed. Make sure its not your oil pan gasket going bad. The pan gasket does go directly over the rear main bearing cap so that could be the source of the leak. If your going to have this done by someone else I would imagine the labor alone would be a few hundred dollars just for the work involved of removing the transmission. Also is the leaking running down the front of the bellhousing block plate? Or is it running down the back of the bellhousing?
