I am looking at installing a cartridge filter on the C-6 in my truck and was wondering if there were any issues I should be aware of?
I have a oil filter relocation kit that I pulled off my jeep and had thought of installing it in line of the cooler line.
Would this possibly effect pump pressure?
Should it go before or after the cooler?
The reasoning for the install is
(a)I just rebuilt the tranny over last winter and keep finding dust particles in the fluid from the clutches.
(b)The original filter is just a screen
(c) I have been using the truck to tow with and I would like the keep the fluid clean.
Just thought I would get a couple oppinions before I went ahead with the install.
Thanks, Ken
Is that filter unit you have a bypass style of filter? I would not install a full flow type of unit. You don't want to starve the tranny of fluid or pressure. Since you don't say, I wasn't sure what you had. Just FYI.
