just wondering what your reccomendation for education in the field would be. I still havent decided what I want to do after high school, and Tech school is one of my choices. I was told the money is in diesel and diesels are what I love so i'm thinking of choosing this path. I work for toyota right now, and they will send me to school to be a tech but I dont want to work on yotas the rest of my life, when my true passion is diesel engines. any info would help
Ford motor company has a program called "ASSET" they send you to school, then when you sign a contract for 3 years working in a ford dealership, they also buy you a very nice tool set. Go to your local dealership for more information.

Toyota is expanding their truck line-up and there is quite a bit of talk of them developing or partnering on a diesel motor/truck offering? You may still be able to stay with Toyota and still work on diesels???
Keep your options open... becuase Toyota is number one in overall sales in America and I see no reason for that to change anytime soon. Ford sells more trucks (gas and diesel) than GM and Dodge combined (just read this week). There are rumors that Toyota may either develop their own diesel motor or maybe partner with CAT (wow!!!). That was a story/theory in the latest issue of Diesel Power magazine (December 2006 issue).
About toyota and theyre diesel project, I havent heard much to support it YET. I know the new tundras are going to be really nice, and they may have a 3/4 ton version but i havent heard anything about the diesel tundra yet. I do know that a lot of our advertising is for trucks and the tundras are in close competition with f 150's. It would be of toyotas best interest to enter the diesel market imho but whether they will or not is another story. Again i havent seen any support for this rumor so I wqont believe it till I see it, and if my dealership offers to send me to school then i'll probably take them up on the offer. Free education is something I can not pass up lol.
I think the tundra has more power than the ford 150, Thats a big think. But also thats why ford motor company is falling apart. Im in the Ford ASSET Program rite now and its pretty interesting.
Yah one reason right there y i wouldnt want to join the Ford force. Right now we are busy day in and day out, I honestly didnt notice as many toyotas on the road till I started working there. I think the sales dept reaches there goal almost every night. Tundra has more towing capacity than f 150, longer than F150 and I think has more leg room in the back. But I aint into gassers rather have me a diesel and like i said if there is any future for toyota and diesel it is in the far future
