4x4 problems

This is my first time posting. I have a 05 king ranch. My problem is that if it gets cold < 32 my 4x4 wont engage not even the light on the dash. There is no code on the computer so the dealer cannot figure it out. It only happens when I 300 miles away snowmibiling, when I get home its warmer so when I take back to the dealer it is working. Any ideas? I also have an edge evo now, do I have to remove when I take it in.
Thanks for the input

As for the 4x4 not engaging...it sounds like something is freezing in the system. As for your EVO... I would change it back to stock and remove it unless you have a really understanding dealer. They are going to have to plug it into thier tester and will need that port. Just make sure you return it to stock first.

This might help, but i'm new to these trucks so i'm not sure. My 2001 f-250 had a similar problem, and the only thing i came up with is that the hubs were vacuum actuated and the cold might affect that. But like i said not, sure. I believe the transfer case is electronically actuated, butr might use vac to pull in something else.

my 93 Bronco would get moisture in the t-case motor and corrode until it froze up. if you're playing in weather that cold, it's not hard to believe your electric motor is litterally freezing up.

they make portable window defrosters. next time you're up there, try one of those on the motor and see if it works. or do like I did, and give it a good smack with a deadblow hammer (rubber). it only worked 3 or 4 times, but it did work
