Gas Mileage HELP!!

I was reading through the forum and found that bad gas mileage could be caused by bad or tired O2 sensor or the ECT sensor, I was going to go ahead and replace those this weekend but was wondering where the ECT is located? Is it the one on the water outlet neck or is that the sending unit? My truck is a '91 F-150 5.0L. Also how much fuel do the dual tanks hold??

I don't know how much the tanks hold but when I fill up the front takes around 16 gal and the rear 12.

Depending on the configuration of the truck, the tanks are some combination of 19, 18.2 and 16 gallons. Long wheelbase, heavy-duty vehicles could have had 2x19 gallon tanks, longbed were usually 19 front, 18.2 rear, and shortbeds got 16 front and 18.2 rear. There were some variations to this scheme, but those were the most common (based on the manuals I have and what I've read here).
