Has anyone come up with a good place to mount an amp on an 06 sc?..The best place i have seen was mounted under the seat in the rear.the only problem is there is no supports to hold up the amp .Any one found a better spot.thanks
When I get around to adding another amp and component sets at the 4 corners, I will be mounting the processor and amp under the center dash. I'll set up some kind of rack or multi level platforms to mount them on and then put the stock the trim back on. It will not be flashy, but I think I can do it cleanly.
I have an 03' and my power amp is under the passenger side of the rear seat. I have it screwed down through the floorboard. Mounted lengthwise staight in, I have access to the crossover controls. The wires are out through the rear.
i was lookin under there but i was tryin to make it look like there was no amp at all.I think i might customize the back seat support to house the amp. Also due to the size of the amp , and also to cut out any drain on my electrical system i use a capacitator . thats just another piece of equipment i need to put some where close to the amp.

I am assuming you have a subwoofer setup behind the back of the rear seats? That would be a nice place mounted up on the wall if didn't have subs there. Not too many other choices unless you waterproof and go outside of the cab body like say the front bed wall? You would have to make a waterproof box with vents for it. Now we're stretching a bit........
Behind the seat is doable, check my gallery. It does require some modifications to the seat back including welding. Under the seats are also good and not very visible at all. You deffinitely can't see them from outside the truck.. In my case they also CAN NOT be removed without removing the seat. Finally I think caps are a waste of money. I've had over 1000 watts in vehicles in the past and just run stock alternator, no cap, and dual batteries with good cabling. The batteries protected the rest of my electrical system very well. Never blew an alternator or anything like that. I had the system in my van for close to 6 years too.

I checked out your gallery. Nice setup. You are doing it right in removing every piece of interior panel. I see you already have the amps mounted on the rear wall. Where are you planning on placing the subs? Yeah, I don't think there is a real need for any cap's. Not that big of a draw.
In my last truck i demolished the alternator and battery in a couple of months with my last setup.Thats why i got the cap. Also i knew the guy at the audio shop so i got a 1 farad cap for cheap.Bottom line its a pain hookin the cap up and probably dont even need it for one 12 " sub in this rig.I learned from the past that you always go bigger in the future so im prepared.today i mounted it under the rear driver seat and have a support to make the amp look hidden.Sounds good though. This is my only setup where i have the bass turned down and its still loud.Im probably gona change teh door speaker .Any recomendations on speakers?..I really want ones that will sound good without hookin another amp up to them.
Is there any room behind the dash to fit an amp or three? maybe near the glove box? I hate to give up the space in the rear. I'd even consider adding a battery box under the cab or in the rear cc doors.
Well... in a CC you can fit subs behind the rear seat.. In an SC like mine, there's NO room behind the seat. You have to cut up the seat back and rebuild it just to tuck a 4" thick amp back there. For my truck I went with a JL stealthbox. It's nice, but not super loud. My old van had two JL 12w3s and it was MUCH louder. But I'm older now, and I don't need it as loud as I used to. For my install I didn't want to cut into any of the useable space in the truck.. And I didn't. I still fold the seats up and put stuff in the cab all the time. If you were willing to loose the space under the rear seat I think you could cram a fair amount of stuff in there.

EDIT: Oh yeah... There is a fair amount of useable space in the dash. At one time I had a source selector, electronic crossover, aux input, two passive crossovers, and a lot of slack wire in my dash, and there was still more room. That said, an amp is just too big, there isn't one large enough area to put an amp.

Thanks for the info CyberJay. Guess I'm just dissapointed that I have to lose the sub box from my old Bronco. Pair of nice 15" in a box sitting in the garage, gathering dust, screaming use me! Anyway I don't mind putting new subs, maybe those thin pioneer 12", either behind or under the rear seat, but I'd like to mount the amps elsewhere to save some storage space back there.
The stereo shop just finished my install. Truck is a '06 F-350 SC PSD. Behind the rear drivers side seat 2 amps mounted vertically, front seat consul was rebuilt, with 2 10" W6 JL subs that are down driving and ported. The consul was integrated so the top of the stock consul fits and looks great on the sub box. Focal mids in the front doors, Focal tweets mounted on the front pillars, replaced the rear pillar speakers w/Focals also.Sirius Sat and Ipod interfaces through the deck. Unlimited amount of music available. They did all the work in a day, including alarm system and remote start. I am very pleased with it as they had to get a little creative because nothing would fit under the rear seat. And best of all, it rocks just the way I like it !!!
