It's trucks that came from a factory with a lift. This one in particular is all stock and could clear 38's. At least that's the drift I caught. This is my first true highboy.
sweet deal I got an 81 F150 for free in August. Rancher was fed up cause he just finished an engine tuneup and the auto tranny died on him. So I got a free truck with a great 351, perfect interior, and rims which will look good on my 73 once I polish them. Funny what frustration makes some people do. Oh, had a buddy of mine who's a licensed Ford mechanic take a look and the tranny can be fixed for $200. Pics in my gallery under "Cow Catcher"
one more time a highboy is a 67-early 77 f250 4x4 they have a divorced transfercase they sit high enough to put 38 inch tires under with no lift kit. If your 77 has the divorced tranfer case (meaning it has about a 2 foot drive shaft between it and the tranny)you have a highboy if your tranfercase is married to the tranny you don't and it is 3 to 4 inches lower
mine's a 75(sorry i was wrong the first time title says 75) and it is divorced. I thought it was 76-77 because it has the blackouts around the headlights. But the guy said it was a 352 also and it has a factory 4 bbl I didn't think ford put a 4bbl on 352...s but i have never owned a 352 so who knows.
