I purchased a set of clear replacement lights from Recon, and the instructions state that the mirror cover must be removed in order to change out the bulb assembly. The instructions, however, are text only, with no illustrations to help in figuring out how to get the mirror covers off. I checked with my Ford dealer's body shop and all they could say was, "we've never been able to get the covers off without breaking the tabs", so they weren't a lot of help!
If anyone has mastered the technique and can pass along some tips (or, even better, diagrams or photos), I would greatly appreciate it, as I'm sure the Recon lights would look better on the truck than they do sitting in the box. I would rather avoid the $25 or so, each, price for the mirror covers, especially since I have already added chrome caps to them.
