Working on the Plymouth tonight, trying to get the brakes bled with the rebuilt master cylinder i got back and i'm not getting any fluid out the rear bleed screw. Thought my daughter wasn't pushing hard on the pedal till i look from a different angle and see.....NO BRAKE LINE going to that wheel cylinder !!!
Check the other rear brake .....NO BRAKE LINE.

So all summer long we had being driving around in the plymouth with only from brakes, i just figured 1952 drum brakes sucked.
Damn previuos owners....what the hell would they have been thinking. Now i have to pull the two rear drums and see what else is missing. So much for a quick fix and then winterizing the car.

Ouch! You just never know, eh? Maybe the guy didn't know how to fix it or couldn't get parts or just didn't care. Either way, that's still a nasty thing to find out. I seem to recall my dad having an old farm truck that was like that when he got it.

SAme here when I bought my 85 truck. The guy took the brake line off at the check valve and put a bolt in to plug the valve outlet. Since I got replacement lines, new brakes and cyl. I still have a bit of travel on my pedals. I think the front rortors are in need of replacement. I notice that last week when I was doing anm oil change.
If you need help I have a shop manual from 1950 to 54 Plymouth, Desoto, Dodge, Chrysler. It is thick. So pm me if you got questions and I will blow the cobwebs off it when I locate it and see what I can help with.

Yanking the back brake lines off is sure a good way to do brake torques

Having went through drive train class. If see what a one wheel smoke show actually does to your differential, you won't be doing it anymore.

previous owners ??????

I try to blame " the jackass that first bought this truck" but just end up cursin myself. the old truck rolled through 450km a bit back, but it still goes to work everyday. actually thinking of retiring it in the spring.

OLD IS GOOD if you have no other options !!
