I've done a little searching for reasons behind the removal of the tech folders, and so-forth, but my question is will they return/have they returned?? If so where are they/where will they be?
They defiently were a wealth of info. Looks like now we have to search thru a gob of threads and replies to find useful and simplified articles like the zoodad mod, or changing your oil, changing your fuel filter, airfilter, ect.
If I'm missing something I hope someone can explain it to me.???

 

I know. It has been over two weeks. They are being worked on. Hopefully to return soon.

I hope it does also...return soon, we have SEMA coming up ....so that will take time out of the schedule.

 

Just a thought for the future... you could've left the Tech Folders in place while the new site area was brought up elsewhere. That way, you wouldn't have people waiting for weeks to get access to that info... let's not forget, info that members here chose to "donate".

 

my work hours change every quarter so i havnt been in much, but im wondering whats going on. why is the tech folder "down" and what new stuff is coming up??? im sure ive missed out on alot. if im asking the reptative question let me say sorry now. thanks.

 

As long as your working on teck folders how about a 7.3 teck folder? We seem to get the same questions only asked in different ways.

 

They are being cleaned up. Some will become articles and placed in the in the article section of FTE https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/ ...hopefully linked via each engine specific forum.

I haven't seen any of the revisions yet so really not sure of what the end result look like. Will likely loose some, IMO. Items that could lead to copyright risk, proprietary risk or that may be deemed..un-necessary...or a higher command decides was in the wrong forum (so not lost...reassigned so to speak).

Most of the information that was in the forum Tech Folders still live within the forums they originated in. You just have to perform a search to find them. If the info was linked to other sites...they may be kidnapped.

The original thought was that the clean up would only take a week but, as you can imagine the task is much greater than anyone realized...Again IMO, we are a few weeks out before being complete but, we should see Tech Folders returning to individual forums as they are finished. The 6.0 Tech Folder was arguably one of the most comprehensive and will likely be one of the more difficult ones to sort through. Therefore, it could possibly one of the last to be available. Again, just my opinion...
