56 Towing capacity

So I've decided to do a frameup rodstoration of my truck. In the final form I wanted to have a hidden tow hitch reciever behind the license plate (which will be in the center of the rollpan). So since I'm starting off with the frame, do I need to reinforce it in any areas like more crossmembers or an X member? And I just realized, I have a Mustang gas tank setup in the rear as well. Will that cause complications?

You might have to pioneer this one

How far forward is the edge of the Mustang tank? I think is is going to severely limit the GVW rating on this hitch.

Ok, so I've been thinking about it and I may have come up with an idea but I wanted to see if it makes sense to anyone else first. I've added a picture at the bottom. So the aftermarket trailer hitch frame will weld in and take place as a rear crossmember (green lines). And since that probably would bend outward and suck the frame in when I tow something heavy, I'll weld in some square steel tubing where the red lines are, so the outward pulling force will go to the reinforcements which will pull on the sides of the frame where the second crossmember is. I think it makes sense, but maybe not. BTW the circle is the fuel filling port on the mustang tank.

Not sure what you are intending to pull but I think your plan has a good chance of working well for light loads. A good crossmember closer to the rear would be ideal in my opinion but I suppose that's about where your Mustang tank must be.
