tranny temp gauge
Either electric or manuel bulb type.
The electric types requires a single wire into the cab and ignition controlled power to the gage as well as a nite light off the light circuit.. This gages' sensor can be put in the pan, the side of the trans, in the cooler line to or from the radiator or aux cooler. I use the cooler line from the trans to the radiator to see the hottest temps at the output of the converter while towing. This location gives the highest temps to see and scares many who see it but it's normal when the trans converter is unlocked and pulling hard in summer temps. It's something you get used to as long as it doesn't go past about 250° to often. Unloaded running is about 148°+/-.
I did my power from modified fuse holders and "add-a taps" off the panel in the cab that powers certain functions when the ignition is on.
The Manuel bulb type requires you to get the larger bulb and nut thru the firewall in order to mount the gage and get to the transmission, plus lighting it.

A tee block with fitting.
The line is cut and some taken out so the line goes back togather like stock length.
Pay attention to how close you come to the cats.
If needed add a sheild extension onto the regular shield to keep excess exhaust heat away from the block.
