Speedo Twitch

I'm Restoring A 77 F-150 4x4.installed A Brand New Speedo Cable And I Have A Jumpy Needle.it Did Not Have A Cable Before So I Don't Know What It Was Like Before.any Suggestions?

Might put a little oil on the cable. It might be dry from sitting. Also alittle lite oil on the moving parts on the back of the speedo. Erv

Sometimes the bushing is worn in the speedo head and occasionally there is a speck of grit in the magnetic coupling. Usually the grit is stuck to the magnet and near impossible to get out.
