I’ve heard that Ford has lost million on the 6.0 and Ford gets the motors from International. So does ford have a warranty from them? Maybe some of these recalibrations (de-tuning) are coming from them?
well i will just say this. internationals vt-365 is rumored to run flawlessly in their equipment. now it is goverened below 3gs on the revving side and i dont think they have near the smog stuff on it.
And a 6.0 in an F-650 is capable of making 21 psi boost tops... I wonder if they were on to something that Ford didn't want any part of when they chose the electronics for the SuperDuty.
Keep in mind that the VT-365 offered by International has a 235 Hp rating max. The same engine offered by Ford as the 6.0 is rated at 325 Hp. The only real performance difference between the two engines is the software as BTH indicated. The way I see it, the 6.0 offered by Ford is already "chipped" by 90 Hp when you drive it off the lot.

very true. the main thing is how people want their vehicles to perform. people want speed, and to go fast. in the 650 and 750 have had a few injector issues, turbos, and egr valves. it does not even compare to the issues with the superduty version. but you have to pay to play and ford is having some issues with pocket money since the 6.0.
