Any suggestions to clean toolbox?

Someone gave me a nice Challenger toolbox that fits on my truck, problem is its luster is really dull, and some oxidation has accumulated in the box, its also been exposed to alot of salt water breeze coming right off the sound. My question is what would be the best stuff to get it looking shinny again? I was thinking maybe petroleum jelly, but dont know.

What color is your Truck? Would you mind it being black? It is hard to stop the oxidation even if you get it clean. The reason I ask about black, is I had mine Rhino Lined and had them put the protective coating on it to keep it from fading and I love it and get a lot of compliments as well. Much better than the painted tool boxes, it will not chip. Plus, I had them do the inside and it keeps your stuff free of all the black oxidation. Just something to consider. I believe they did mine for 75 bucks. Check out my gallery for pics.

Its a silver truck. That would be cool to get it rhino lined, I didn't think about that. I wonder how it would look on my truck. Thanks for your opinion.
