hello I have a 1986 f250 HD (8600 gvwr) w/ 351w (H.O. 4 bbl)
I think is is about 220 hp stock
I am in the process of rebuilding the motor and have instaled a re-ring kit.
I plan on using these parts to help build-up the power.
-Ford racing gt-40 aluminum heads, 64cc chamber, 160 cc intake
-Headman Full length headers
-Edelbrock performer dual-plane intake
-Holy 600cfm square bore carb
-Comp Cam 4x4 energy 250/258 duration, .448/.483 lift
I dont know if it matters but, I plan on removing everything that isnt nessary
my question is, what kind of hp/torque numbers can i expect?
For starters, instead of going with the Performer intake, step up to an RPM intake. The Performer is basically a cloned stock 351W 4 bbl intake. Not worth the purchase price when you already have the stock 4 bbl intake. The RPM will give you the same bottom end performance plus give it a bump in the upper rpms. I'd also go with 58 cc chambered heads over the 64's. That will give the compression a boost to offset the increased cam overlap.
yea go 58cc, the aluminum heads allow for a bit higher compression with out detonation. so you could run a 9.5-1 more then likly and still run 87 octane fuel.
