Neutral safety switch was used only on the automatics when they were offered in 73 and up.

There is no clutch start switch on the manual trans equipped.

Did you figure out your starting problem?

No, I havnt found the problem yet... I still cant get 12V to the S terminal in the crank position. I did find a Purple wire that is in the harness that goes to the ign switch, It has an "slide on" style fitting and it doesnt seem to go anywhere...

The purple wire goes to the brake warning light. If you jump the yellow wire to the red/ blue stripe wire at the ignition switch, does it crank? Do you have 12V at the yellow wire?

Before I would spend anymore time messing with the old harness I would just run a new wire from the hot side of the starter solinoid to the ignition switch. Then from the ignition switch back to the starter solinoid. Or do the same and get a spring loaded switch to mount in the dash and forgo wiring into the keyed ignition for the starter. If your keyed ignition switch is bad you can buy one from NAPA or any good auto parts store.
