First off, I have a 2002 F250 SC LB V10 w/ 3.73ls, Off-road package.
I was debating ordering the Tuff Country 2.5" leveling kit, or the Jack-It 2.5" leveling kit. Their about the same price but the Jack-It kit comes with rear add-leafs for the truck and that is something I definatley wanted. Any thoughts on either kit as far as reliability and customer service, they seem to give the same results which is usually about 3-4".
I was also thinking about adding a 1" Conferr shackle ontop of that in the front, to get a definate 4" front with a slightly underlevel rear. Anyone see any problems I may be over looking by doing so? Sway bar links, Transfer case Issues? Besides shocks...
Then my plan was to order some premium grade shocks, Im guessing If all this combination works correctly I would need 4" front shocks and 4" rear shocks, Sound right?
I have 35x12.50 Mickey Thompson claws on 16x10 Eagle 058's that I will run temporarily until I find something else I like more, I Just happen to get these at a good price.
I like to do things right so I Just wanted another person look over my plans to see If theres anything I missed, I wanna do It once, and right. And as far as the Lift bug....This will be a tow rig for my toy so I definatley wont be going bigger.
I am partial to the fabtech kits, but I have a 4" procomp lift on mine. I am happy with it, but I am thinking of adding shackles to stuff 37" under it.
I am a little confused about what you are trying to do exactly. You mention a leveling kit, and you also mention an add-a-leaf for the rear???? If you are looking to level the truck, you will not want to lift the back, this will defeat the purpose of the leveling kit. Maybe you want to lift the entire truck? If this is the case, consider a 4" kit from the beginning. This will be enigineered to fit your needs. This would be better than piecingtogether multiple parts from different companies. That 1" shackle idea will only net 1/2 of the rated amount of lift, since you are only lifting one end of the spring, and not both. This will also have a negative effect on steering as well as the front u-joint.
Consider the Donahoe Racing mini spring pack, or their full 4" system. The Deaver spring is one of the best riding, and best working, (or not working as they say) springs on the market. It is worth looking into. The system costs a few bucks more than some others, but there is a difference. You get what you pay for. Good luck.
I see where I could have been somewhat confusing. I'm not looking to spend a ton on a 4" kit because this truck will never see more then a bumpy road and some fun in the snow. My overall goal is to fit the 315's I have under the truck so I decided on a leveling kit since Its pretty much only seeing the street. I'd like to get between 2-4" to keep things simple and non-costly, plus to make the Install a breeze. During research I saw that this 2.5" Jack-It leveling kit, and the Tuff Country 2.5" kit usually give about 1" more then advertised. Most people were catching on to this and ordering the leveling kit since It gave about the same as a standard 4" kit. Others had noted after Installing this kit the front sat significantly higher then the rear, which was why the rear add-leafs would be needed. Im basically gonna scrap the front shackle Idea for now and be satisfied with the leveling kit alone. This should keep costs down, the Install simple, and should clear my 315's perfectly. I was Just looking for some more real world advice on the Jack-It kit since I didnt find out to much about It, although It seems quality!
Alright. Now it is clear as a bell! Do keep in mind that with an AAl, the ride in the rear will get stiffer. That being said, your concept sounds alright, and fairly well thought out. Sorry I can't help with the "Jack-it" kit. I have never heard of it .
Another thing that came to mind, is the track bar. If you plan on going as high as 4" with a 2" kit, you may run into problems here, as the 4" kit would come with a relocation kit for this.
If you stay with just the standard leveling kit without mods, you will be o.k. and the 315's will clear fine. I ran 315 BFG m/t's on an SD dually with only a leveling kit for a while with no problems.
Have you looked into some hangers(3" fabtech?) for the front.IMO alot easier then the spring packs. And in the rear just use blocks to even out the stance if nessesary.
I went with a 4.5 DR shackle kit and my 315's still rubbed
Then you have the wrong wheel offset, never heard of the kit causing the tires to rub, are you running stock rims? with 35 inch tires you need the correct wheel. And I second the dr kit.
