differential lube types
I am pretty sure that mine calls for 75-140 gear lube, the synthetic type. This stuff is 15 bucks a quart! Would it cause a problem to us the 85-140 regular type? I can't imagine that it would cause any problems maybe other than the synthetic residual left in the stump not mixing with the regular lube. Anyone have any input on this? TIA

you can get the synthetic at Wal Mart for about $10. I normally use the sumi-synthetic. Depending on the brand, you can get it for about $8. If you have limit slip, dont forget the addative. that cost about $5 for a 7 oz tube and very important to add. The type of fluid is somewhat important. you can get some additional gear whine or nois with different lubes. I tried 75-90 synthetic in my F150 for a test, and it works great also.
