PIAA H3 Fog Lights ???

Hey, I just got a set of PIAA H3 fog lights for my 97 Explorer. How the heck am i supposed to install these? They look nothing like the ones that are on the truck, factory style. these new ones have no plastic fitting and they have a long wire with a spade terminal at the end of it. the factory (899 i believe) has the plastic fitting with no wires coming from it....... did i get the wrong lights? keep in mind that piaa.com and autozone.com both show these H3 lights for a 97 explorer.....

You mean you're just trying to change bulbs, right? H3 won't work in the factory fog light housing as far as know. If it's an 899 you'll need to replace it with that. I think there are some other bulbs that will fit pretty easily(maybe minor mods), but I doubt the H3 is one of them. Too short.

Maybe there were two different lights available from the factory?

what the heck..... that freaking sucks. then why the heck do a lot of websites show h3 as the replacement bulb? they cost me like $70 total from ebay and i doubt i can get my money back. what a sham.... i thought h3/899 were compatible with each other.......

It seems the 1999-up use an H3 (if the sites can be trusted). Same body as yours, just with a minor facelift. Seems like it's the round lights that get an H3. Rectangle gets the 899.
