Ok guys, Im new here and I have only posted three times but Ive been reading alot of threads and have heard not to use fram oil filters in ford trucks. This is something I have never heard,I would like to here exactly why you should not use them. I have been using them for about nine months and want to know if I have done any damage to my 4.9 that im not aware of. The only reason i was using them was because I knew the number and didnt have to ask or use the book at the big stores. thanks guys
Fram oil filters are said to use cardboard endplates that are said to be less resistant to cold start oil pressure surge and more likely to fail and let unfiltered oil enter the engine.
