I have only worked on a couple Jags but would concur they are undoubtedly heavy enough. Can they be rebuilt without mortgaging the farm? I expected your response on the stock MII. The aftermarket MII stuff is clearly top shelf but I would be surprised if you could truly install one for the $2000.
You lost me on the sprung vs. unsprung weight and how it is different for the Aerostar from any other typical swap. I have time so I can wait for more info too. I am hoping Greg hasn't lost track of the one he installed. Real world feedback is the only thing that really counts. If I see him hauling a load of gravel I'll be sure and get a PIC for you.
thanks bememe. I am wondering if this 5-6 inch drop impairs your turn radius? Also, what did you have to do to sort of level off the rear end to the front? I like what I have read about Fatman's MII kit. It appears to be heavier than most. But I am having that problem of drop. An inch or two maybe. But 5-6 inches of drop?? I don't know if I would like that. Do you have any pics of your truck completed? Thanks

Sprung and Unsprung Weight
"Sprung" weight is a term used to describe the parts of an automobile that are supported by the front and rear springs. They suspend the vehicle's frame, body, engine, and the power train above the wheels. These are quite heavy assemblies. The "unsprung" weight includes wheels and tires, brake assemblies, the rear axle assembly, and other structural members not supported by the springs.
Sorry but the truck sits at the stage shown in the pictures. Next time I throw the front clip back on I will post new pictures. I don't think that turning radius will be affected. I had 2 leaves removed from the rear pack on each side but 1 of those leaves wasn't factory. Then had them de-arch the springs for a total of 3.5 inches of drop. I went with Fatman cuz they offer 4 different styles of MII so I hope they have done their homework. Couldn't find anything bad written about them either.
