Deck Height - Intake fit

If I have the heads milled down to increase CR, will the spread between the heads increase? If it does, will I have problems getting the intake to fit correctly? Can the slight change in spread be overcome with the appropriate gasket?

Depends on how much you take off. Its quite a common thing to have the intake 3-angle cut to 'move it down' and compensate for the loss of head and deck surfaces. For moderate decking of heads and block (up to at least .025" total, with most of that off the heads) you can usually get away with just not usng the front and rear rubber intake seals and use RTV bead instead.Decking the block moves the 'corners' of the intake mating surfaces closer together and affects the fit more than does taking material off the heads alone.

Any machine shop can figure the amount to machine off the manifold to fit with the machine work done on an engine.
