Camshaft ID
The previous owner of my 79 said that he thought there was an RV cam in the 400. How can I tell if this is the stock camshaft or not? Also, what do I look for to find out if the timing has been adjusted?

A timing light will tell what the ignition is set at. There are directions for checking timing in any repair manual. Cams have numbers on them but it may have to be removed to find them all. RV cams are sort of a misnomer and vary all over.
