Ok, so I'm going to take Monsta's advice and replace my broken driver door lock plate with a blank (no lock) replacement plate from the rear door. Part is $90 from the dealer.
So, if I follow the door lock solenoid replacement instructions to get the door apart, how hard is it to swap in a new handle/plate?
I was also thinking I could JBWeld a metal plate to the back side of the plastic to give it some reinforcement...
caddy - the only way I found them was to not select any category at all, and force it to show all parts. That website stinks.

Thanks found it, ya that website layout is terrible. It doesn't expain about the theft deterrent door handles. It appers it could be that it doesn't have the key hole...

Never done it so I don;t know. However, when in doubt "Installation is the reverse of removal".
Sorry you couldn't find them, some items are difficult to categorize etc. The handles we have are Ford handles painted by Ford and they have the later model metal strip on the reverse side that helps to foil theives, but as you know nothing is stopping a determined criminal!! We stock them in red, white, gray, and blue!
Plus we sell you a full set for 179.990 vs 90.00 each at Ford!
That metal strip did NOTHING to stop the thief who busted my door right open. My `05 was made the same way.
The only product I've been able to find that looks like it will do the job is the jimmijammer. It's a metal shield that bolts to the backside of the handle assembly.
hey guys my X got broken into and they stole my jensen double din tv/dvd player at a freakin flea market the broken thre the driver side the pry a screwdriver uder the plastic door handle cover and somehow unlocked it they also stole my wifes purse it was sucks and i am gonna replace the handle with the blank and also add a metal plate like the jimmi jamer on all doors inside so incase they try to use the same method thier **** out of luck ... i guess after reading this thread this a easy truck to break into ... insurance cover my damages and radio but after the deductible i ended with enuff to only buy the radio.. hey i learned and hopefully it will never happen again..
