Can anybody recommend a steering stabelizer for towing?
Also (probably related to why I am thinking stabelizer), I put a 2.5" leveling kit and the rims/tires off of a King Ranch on my 2005. I am getting strange wear on the insides of the tires. The front end feels like its riding on the insides of the tires when on center and has the obvious effects on steering and feel. Is this an alignment issue? Are the stock alignment specs correct with this tire/leveling combo?
Did you get an alignment after the leveing kit install? If you didn't then you need to because leveling kits require an alignment afterwards for the toe to be put back to specs.
They had to install an alignment kit so they could get it in spec. Im only assuming they actually got it to spec... Im guessing a trip to an alignment shop is in order to make sure.
Dont need a steering stabilizer on these rack and pinion systems unless youre running crazy large tires. stabilizers helped on old drag link systems, but today systems come right out of the rack to the wheels, so its pretty well controlled.
Your other problem certainly sounds like an alignment issue.
