King Ranch Conditioner?

I just bought a 2003 King Ranch. I was wondering what is the best conditioner to use? I was told that when putting conditioner on that leather, it should be around 80 degrees inside so the conditioner soaks in. Is that true because it is starting to get cold outside now and I want to get it done before it gets really cold?

Have you tried Meguiars Rich Leather Aloe Conditioner? I've had really great success with this stuff in my Crown Victoria, really makes the leather feel nice.

By the way, Meguiars recommends applying leather conditioner with an applicator pad, just like you would wax. It actually works out great, tried it not long ago. Sometimes though, I prefer to clean my hands and just use my hands to rubb in the conditioner.

Oscar- Buy King Ranch Leather Conditioner, at www.kingranch.com. Specially made for the KR interior. $9.00 a bottle. Remember, the KR leather is not treated the same way as in say a Lariet. The KR Castano leather is far more absorbant, so I would NOT use an off the shelf product. Spend the coin and get the right stuff.

Talking KR Leather Conditioner - Review

I ordered the leather conditioner directly from the king ranch because my dealership was out. You definately want to do this !!! The dealership quoted me 17.00 per bottle, king ranch sells it for 9.00.

I read somewhere to use a pad like one you would apply wax to your car with, and not use a cloth. This is important because you do not use this conditioner like the others. You have to work the KR leather conditioner into the leather with some elbow grease.

I started by applying a very liberal amount to the interior, then worked it in and waited a few minutes and did it again. My King Ranch is a 2008 model, I bought it four months ago, I could not believe how the leather was soaking it up. ( I guess you never really know how old the leather is before it gets put into your vehicle ).

Anyway, it just seemed like it needed another coat, and just as before, the leather sucked it up very quickly.

The leather turned a little darker, deeper red, more like it was when brand new. It came out with a luxerious look, with a little sheen to it. There were some black splotches that appeared but that is just where the leather got soaked really good, after it dried, everything looked great.

I used up an entire bottle of the KR leather conditioner, so when you order from them, order 3 or 4 bottles and you'll save on shipping. I'm in Texas so I had to pay taxes also.

I think I will do this about every 3 months or so, only takes 30 minutes, but it seemed as though even my almost new 2008 model was crying for it. I have used other leather treament products, but the KR conditioner is different because you have to work it in.

Someone mentioned using saddle soap, I might try that in the future on a small spot to see how it works, if it comes out okay, it would be cheaper.

I would suggest for someone who has an older KR edition, is to duplicate what I did, then do it again a couple more times within two or three weeks to get the leather soft and pliable again.

Hope this helps.
